The Human Cell Membrane Structure

The cell membrane tough elastic membrane that limits the protoplasmic contents. Its is about 7.5 to 10 nm in thickness.

Composition :   

Protein, Phospholipids , Cholesterol, carbohydrates.

 

Structure : The cell membrane is a triple layered structure. 

Function : 

• It forms the boundary of cell .
• It maintain shape of a cell.
• It limits the protoplasmic contents within the cell.
• It controls the passage of all substances into or out of the cell.
• It acts as a sensory surface.
